Beauty this morning

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well on this Tuesday. It has been a bit rainy in Dallas and I am loving it. Something about the rain always makes me nostalgic. During Shepherd and I's early feeding this morning I picked up a book that Kirk and I have been reading together. I know many of you aren't married, but if you are, this book has been so awesome. It is called "Love & War" by John and Stasi Eldredge. Some people aren't big fans of Eldredge, but I am proud to say that I love his writing. I totally recommend this read. Here is a copy of the cover.

Me and my family have always had a love for movies and film soundtracks. One of my favorite themes is from  Brothers and Sisters" by composer Blake Neely.

Sometimes in the mornings when I am reading my Bible, I'll play instrumental music in the background. I love it. If you've never tried it, you should. I recommend starting in the Psalms. Meet my son...Shepherd

Hey everyone!! Sorry for my little vacation, but me and Shepherd have been getting to know each other. :)
He was born on June 9th at 2:02pm. He weighed 5lb 7oz and was 18 3/4 inches long. Here are a few pics.

Happy birthday...almost

Hello world! We went for our weekly doctor's appointment today and ended up staying much longer than we thought. After seeing two doctors and two hours later, our doctor asked us to go ahead and leave and get some lunch and told me that he would call our specialist to get her opinion on inducing me in the next few days. So, we are eating at Taco Joint (fantastic by the way) and Dr. Harris calls to tell me that he thinks we should induce tonight because our little guy had not grown in the past two weeks. We then went back to his office for one more test and left with an appointment at labor and delivery for 8:00pm. So, all that to say...

Happy almost birthday to our little man whom we already love and whose little face we can't wait to see.

Pretty little stripes

Hey everyone! Happy Monday, if that is possible :) I have realized lately that I am officially in love with stripes. The last few items that I have bought for myself all have stripes on them. And if you look back at my previous posts, many striped items show up. So, here is a little ode to stripes. 

So, if you don't have a stripe shirt or something for the summer season, I recommend going and getting one. :)

Pink Lemonade Pie

Hey guys! I hope you all are having a great week! I am not the most enthusiastic cook in the world, but I am working on that. A friend of mine's mom made us all dinner the other night as we watched the season finale of 24. She made the best dessert that I have had in a long time. and I have been craving it ever since.  So, I went to the store this morning and whipped it up. It's still setting in the freezer, but I'll let you know how it turned out.  I recommend that you try it!

I've got to throw in some sort of cute clothing item, this would go great with the dessert.

I wanna dress you up

Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Kirk and I had a all day date day that entailed brunch at our favorite spot Breadwinners, we went to see Robin Hood and then just layed in bed and read a book together. It was really fun.
Today's post is all about dresses. I can't wait to fit back into my old size and find something great. Here are a few that I have found recently that I just love. Let's start more casual and work our way to a bit more formal.
