Canopy beds

Hi everyone! I have taken a bit of a break so that I don't get burned out of posting. Today's post is all about canopy beds. I think that they are so so pretty, but I am not so sure if I'd want one. Would you?

Lovely locks

Hey everyone! It's hump day and I have some lovely photos to share. I hope to sport these styles some day...except Ginnifer's Goodwins precious pixie cut, I just couldn't pull it off!

Ode to Black and White

Almost is such a hopeful word. It's almost Friday (which means Kirk will come back from his work trip) and Shep's cold is almost gone. Yipee! It has been a rough few months with his colds, let me tell you. But, as many people have said....this is just a season.

Today's post is dedicated to black and white. I love everything about these two colors joined together. It is fresh, clean and such a statement. Enjoy!

Straw hat

Hey everyone! Here are a few pics of a straw hat that I really want for Spring. I don't want to spend a lot money on it because I won't wear it all that much. But, I love the idea of using straw hats as decoration as the former editor of Domino, Rita Konig did. I remember seeing this photo in Domino years ago. Don't you love it?

I really want one with a black ribbon.

What can I say, even Van Gough wore one.

Anyone know where I can find my new hat?

Seventh month snow

Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe all the snow yesterday? Dallas got hit a little bit, but not so much that the city shut down. Yesterday as the snow flurries fell, my little guy turned seven months old. I can't believe it. He's getting so big!

Here are a few pics from yesterday with my creatures. As you can see, they were mesmerized by the snow!

And the monthy picture... this kid is in the ninety-seventh percentile.

Song of choice

Hey everyone! I am sorry that I have been sparse with my posts lately. I didn't have a computer charger all last week, but for yesterday I have no excuse.

Today's post is about a song that I have been playing over and over lately. I love the melody and I especially love the words. My favorite verse goes like this:

Reach, reach in
With the hand that heals all our suffering
Conquer all that is not of You
Bring Your spirit through
As we fill these walls with Your praise

Jesus, come and walk the halls of this house
Tread this place and turn it inside out
With Your mercy...
Jesus, teach us the prayers that open these doors
Until Your light floods in and illuminates these floors
And let Your truth be on our steps and in these rooms
Jesus invade...

I call for angels
I call for mercy
I call for freedom
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus

That is my hope for this year and for every day of my life. That Jesus would come and speak to me and invade my life and our home and our marriage. Here is the link for the song. Enjoy!

Ode to green

So, we lost last night...such a bummer. Oh well, I'm already over it. Today's post is a celebration of green. I love this color so much. I am thinking of how I can bring a little more of it into my home. Enjoy!

Yesterday my sis and I spent some time rearranging her apartment and deciding what furniture she should keep and what should go. We also created a fantastic accessory wall. It looks so great and I'll post a picture of it soon.

New Years

So, I have been without a computer charger for the last week! So, I am sorry that I haven't posted since last Wednesday. Ringing in the New Year was really fun...

...until Shepherd started screaming bloody murder. We had to leave the party and ended up ringing in the new year in bed with Kirk and Shep (in his car seat between us) watching reruns of Friday Night Lights. Kirk and I just looked over to each other and laughed at what our life is like now!

Kirk is in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl tonight. Here is his little man rooting on the Hogs from Texas...like father, like son. Kirk better get home soon, or he's going to miss his son crawling for the first time. It's going to be soon!

Go Razorbacks! Beat Ohio State!

Until tomorrow...
