Inspired you could say

Hey freinds, happy Tuesday! My house is covered in art paraphernalia! Last night Kirk walked in and saw my mess and just started laughing and said, "Well, I guess you're back!" I am. I'm back. Something happend to me over the weekend that was beyond exciting! I don't want to say in case it doesn't happen, but let's just say it is what has sparked my inspiration. Yesterday I did these two little 8x10's that will fill these beautiful white 25x25 modern frames. What do you think?

My goal is to do a series of two more today. We'll see if Shepherd allows that to happen.
Until tomorrow...

Art Festival

Hey everyone! I hope you had a restful weekend and are recharged for the new week. I was solo this weekend while Kirk went to a wedding in Austin. Being alone with Shep gave me the chance to dust off my paint brushes! I got in a few hours of painting on my entry into the PCPC Arts Festival. This years theme is the Manger, the Magi and the Majesty. I decided to do a piece on the attributes of Jesus. Here is my work thus far!

It's still a work in progress, but I need to let the first layer of paint dry. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Until tomorrow...

Etsy art

Hey everyone! I hope that you all are having a great day. I feel like I am getting more and more excited about picking up my paint brushes. I visited etsy today for inspiration and actually found some. I hate to say this, but the art on etsy is usually bad...really bad. But, check out some cool stuff I came across today.

Guess I owe all the artists on esty an apology.

Until tomorrow...

Goodbye Colorado

We're back from Colorado! Sad to say goodbye to the 70 degree weather, but it's good to be home. One of the highlights of our trip was the day that we went zip lining in Vail.  Here is a little video of one of the zips. Sorry in advance for the poor camera skills, it was self-recorded!

So fun!
Until tomorrow...

Arkansas & Texarkana

Happy happy Friday everyone! I hope that you all have some fun plans this weekend. Kirk, Shep and I are all off to Colorado to escape the heat for a week. And just coming home from Arkansas yesterday, I am a bit tired of living out of a suitcase. However, it will be worth it to sit outside and it be in the 60's! Here are a few pictures from Shepherd's and my visit.
First we spent the night at Grams. I love spending time here. I have hundreds of lovely memories in her house.

Isn't she so cute?
This is her little guest house. I love it.

We went to one of my favorite restaurants while we were home. Shepherd's first visit.

This is Dad buying a Hope watermelon. They are the best!

Great friends

And our drive home. Look at that sky and that little sweet face.

Since we will be on vacation, I am going to take a little break from posting. But, we'll start right back up when we get back.

Until after vacation...

Recent art

Happy Tuesday one and all! I hope you guys are doing really well. Today I am posting a few pieces of art that I have done recently. I have the privilege of showcasing some of my artwork at Cobblestone and Vine in Little Rock. I have done a few series of watercolors for them that I call my "Dancing Ladies".  Here are a few of my girls...

I am looking forward to getting out my oils again soon. I really didn't enjoy painting at all while I was pregnant because the smell of the oil was so strong. And now that my little "studio" has been transformed into Shepherd's room, I don't have a convenient place to paint. But, I saw this photograph and it gave me inspiration and a dream to one day have a place like this to work in.

Ahhhhh. Isn't it fantastic? It makes me want to go buy a gigantic canvas!

Until tomorrow...

At home at work

Hey guys! I am home sweet home in Little Rock...just pulled in about an hour ago. We are back for Shepherd's Sip & See at my parent's house tomorrow morning. I wanted to replace a few paintings in my mom's dining room before the big shindig. I'm thinking big modern frames with large mats and filled with funky water colors. Here is a preview of the  frame that I am thinking. These are 25x25's.

And here is my inspiration. I know it's not much, but read what it says.

I have to go work on them and I'll post how they turn out! Sorry this is a short post, but we have much to do!
Until Monday...

Two months, too fast

Happy Wednesday peeps! Today is my little man's two month mark! How can it be? And if you'll let me brag a little bit...Shepherd slept six and a half hours last night! Woo hoo, go Shep!
Here is his birth announcement that I designed.

A few friends of mine have started this idea where you take a picture of your child in the same chair each month. Here are the first two months photos.

My little love bug.

Will you accept this peony?

Hey there everyone! I hope that you all are having a great Tuesday! Anyone tap into the Bachelor finale last night? I really was surprised the see that good ol' Rob won. I guess it just seemed too obvious! I was pulling for Chris from the beginning. So what if my guy didn't win, the wine and female comradery was priceless! However, now that I am even more sick of roses than I have ever been, I thought I post some flowers that are actually worth accepting! Aren't these just beautiful?

Until tomorrow....go buy some flowers...but please, no roses!
