Christmas season begins

Hi everyone! I hope that your holiday is going wonderfully. I can't believe that it is officially the Christmas season! I'm exhausted just thinking about it. But, I LOVE to buy people presents and find something that they would absolutely love, so I'm excited to get to shopping for the people on my list. Christmas here we come! Calling all retailers...

But, in the midst of all the artificiality of the Christmas season, I want to remember why it is that we celebrate Christmas in the first place. May all glory be to Jesus, who came to save us from our sins. Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Until Monday...

Shepherd's baptism

Hey everyone! Can you believe it's the week of Thanksgiving? Wow, time flies...just passing by. Well, my parents were in town this past weekend for Shep's baptism. I grew up Non-denominational, where we where baptized when we "professed" faith in Christ. Now we go to the Presbyterian church where Kirk grew up, and they baptize babies. I could go into what exactly they/we believe, but the point is that we dedicated our son to the Lord this past Sunday and it was really neat. He did pretty well and looked totally precious. Kirk's parents hosted a beautiful brunch that was so much fun. Thanks Becky! We also planted a tree in our front yard for Shepherd so as he grows up, no matter where we live in Dallas, we can go and visit "Shepherd's tree" and say, "that tree was planted the same week you were baptized". It was supposed to be planted the week he was born, but come on, we were a little busy. I like how it turned out. Enjoy!

He kept leaning back to see his daddy.

My happy boys after a very sweet day...

We are having our family picture taken today for our Christmas cards. I hope they go well!

Until tomorrow...

Side tables

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Shepherd and I were forced to leave the house today. We ran out of diapers and had to walk to the grocery store. It was so fun to go on a walk again. Man I've missed getting out.

Today's post is all about side tables. My goodness, I love them. They one of the smaller pieces in a room, but they can be the most fun. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Until tomorrow...

Artsy fartsy

Good morning everyone and happy hump day! When Kirk's mom took Shepherd last Tuesday, I was able to finish some of my artwork. Here are some before and after shots. Enjoy!

These are off to one of my favorite shops in Dallas called Mecox

We'll see if they want them!

Whew...glad that's over

Good morning everyone! My little procedure went well this morning and I am so glad that it is over! I thought I would be totally out of it, but I've got a bit of determination to post today. Here is some great style coming to you from around the web. I was inspired, I hope you are too!

Outdoor eating

Hey everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was okay. My pack is still acting up and I have the privilege of getting a giant steroid shot in my spine tomorrow. Don you wish you were me?

Moving on...I know that is it getting cold, but something in me has so wanted to get a group of my closest friends and go eat dinner outside somewhere. My mom and I ate on the Pattrizio's patio for my birthday and I think that is where this is coming from. Enjoy!

Don't these picture make you want to plop yourself down with a big glass of wine? Yes, please.

I won't be posting tomorrow because I am going to be drugged up...again!

Until Wednesday...

Home sweet home

My precious Lily is home sweet home!

We got her back last night around 8:00pm.  A lady called Kirk yesterday saying that she had seen two men with Lily and had asked her if she wanted her. She acted like she was interested, took his name and number then immediately called us. Kirk and the men who picked her up last Saturday communicated through the day yesterday and finally met up for the exchange. She is a exhausted today, hungry and really matted. I need to take her to the groomer now, but I can't bring myself to leave her with another stranger! She is going to be fine. I am just so thankful that she is home with us. Thank you for your prayers, emails, calls, etc.

To God be the glory, great things He has done!

Until tomorrow...

I need a good day

Well, today is another day, which so happens to be my birthday. I want to fee like this...

but I don't. We lost Lily on Saturday and after posting about 700 flyers for about 15 hours, received a call that she was seen being picked up by utility truck that afternoon. I am devastated and exhausted from worry if I am completely honest. My heart aches for her. Please keep your eyes out for a teacup yorkie about 3.5 lbs and contact me if you see her in the Oaklawn area in Dallas! We are praying that the person who took her will bring her back. You could pray too please!

I read this randomly today in Jerimiah 31:16.

"This is what the Lord says, "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded, declares the Lord. They will return from the land of your enemy. So there is hope for your future, declares the Lord. "

I am clinging to that promise today! I know that the Lord placed those words before my eyes today...how wonderful He is, even if I don't get her back.

On an easier note, my mom is still here and my back is getting better day by day. I went to physical therapy for the first time this morning with a really great doctor and he is hopeful. Woo hoo! I need to do  something fun today. We are off to Moderne, my favorite little shop and who knows where else we'll end up. And we have dinner with friends tonight. Thank to Lord for friends and family.

All I want for my birthday is my Lily back. Where are you, Lil? I'm not giving up on you.

Until tomorrow...
