Ahhh!

Ahhh, I did it again. I had some errands to do today and I visited my friend whom just had a baby six days ago today...so fun. We videotaped his and Shep's first play date today. The first of many to come. All that to say, I finished my etsy shop, but I'll wait to post it on Monday.  I'll leave you with a cutie pie to wish you a happy weekend. Guess who's smiling?

Until Monday...

Dreamy consoles

Hey guys! Sorry for the past few postless days. I've been trying to get my etsy shop up and running, which means I need inventory! My goal is to post my shop's link hopefully tomorrow. Woo hoo! But, today is all about more console tables. There is nothing like a great entrance to a home. What do you think about these?

And my absolute favorite...

Perfect Poufs

Happy Thursday all! I have been holed up in my house the past few days because my car died...so fun. But it has given me much time to update my website and get things in order around the casa. Good news, there is nothing wrong with our car...don't know how, but I don't care!

Today's post is an ode to poufs. Don't know what a pouf is? Well, let me enlighten you. Poufs are the new little accessory for the home. Use them as a seat or foot stool. Here are a few...

Aren't they are fabulous!
And my personal favorite pouf photo...

These can't be comfortable to sit on, but I really want one of these as an ottoman. Don't you?

Until tomorrow...

So excited!

Hey everyone! I am so excited right now. So a little background...I don't really visit that many blogs...maybe five or so. But, one that I really love is cup of jo, by Joanna Goddard.

Joanna just had a baby a few weeks before I had Shepherd. And just like every proud mother, Joanna will post an updated picture of Toby, her baby boy. Well, one day I was on her blog and my mouth dropped because Toby looked SO MUCH like Shepherd! So, yesterday I came up with the idea to email her. This is what I said:

Dear Toby,

My name is Shepherd. My mom's name is Lindsey Meyer. She is an artist and graphic designer in Dallas who loves your mom's blog. Well, the reason I am writing you is because my mom was looking at your mom's post a few weeks ago and she thought you were me! We were born just a week or so apart. So, I've decided to introduce myself to you and send you some pictures of myself. I hope to hear from you soon.

Love,

Shepherd

So cute, right? :) Well, much to my surprise this morning, Joanna had emailed me back! Here was her response:

Dear Shepherd,

Oh my gosh, we DO look so similar! My mom was amazed when she saw your photos, and she showed my dad, and he was amazed, too! Don't you think we're really cute? :)
So, how are you enjoying being alive, so far? My favorite things are foot massages, walks in the sling, eating around the clock, and making lots of noises in my sleep. My least favorite things are wet diapers (i freak out!).

Hope you have a great week, and my mom told me to tell you to say hi to your mama.

Love,
Toby

Isn't that great?!! I like her even more now. Thought you guys might enjoy that with me. And in the spirit of babies and sending/posting pictures, here is Shepherd, six weeks old today. Look at that face!

Symmetry for me

Happy hump day everyone! I hope that your week is going well. I am still in Little Rock with the rents. I'll be headed back to Texarkana to spend the night with Gram tomorrow night and then back to Dallas Friday morning.
Today's post is about designing with symmetry. I am big on rooms having balance. Here are some examples of amazing rooms with great symmetry:

Notice the quote in the above picture...that is totally my philosophy! I couldn't of said it better myself. And this headboard is phenomenal.

Workable workspaces

Good morning all! Kirk and I are trying to figure out a spot for a desk in our less than large house since Shepherd is living in my old office/painting studio. Here are some lovely workspaces that I am taking inspiration from for our little space. Yep, I think I could get some work done in these desks.

Wipe in style

Hey everyone! Today's post is a bit late all because I've been sewing all day! Since my main job now is taking care of sweet Shepherd, I have tried to come up with some "stay at home" ways to make a little money. So, now I officially have three jobs: Artist/painter, freelance graphic designer and crafter. My mom and I decided that I should start selling homemade crafts via etsy or through word of mouth. So, here is the first item that I am going to start selling. These are little purses or pouches I guess you could say that hold your baby wipes. Who wants to carry around ugly plastic wipes when you can carry them like this:

My mom made this one for Shepherd...she even got his initials placed on it!

And I made these two...

So, if you are interested in one of these new creations, let me know! Also, if you look back at my "Key Fobulous" post, I am selling these key chains as well.

Until tomorrow...

Rooftop Party

Happy Friday everyone! I am home sweet home in Little Rock...so fun. I forgot Shepherd's bassinet, so me and Gram improvised and my little guy slept in a suitcase last night!

Isn't that hilarious?

I had a fun opportunity to design an invitation to a roof top party for a client. It was so fun to do. My inspiration came from Julie and Julia when they are celebrating on her roof. That movie is great.

Here is what I came up with.

I hope this party turns out to be a blast. Please contact me if you know of someone who needs invitations or any type of graphic design work! Little plug there :)

Until Monday...

Ivy House

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I am sorry that I have been somewhat sporadic about posting. But, from now on, I am going to be a faithful poster.

Around where we live, there are so many beautiful homes that have English Ivy growing on them. I love how it looks on an older home. And English Ivy is one of the few plants that stay green year round. So, after some neighborhood inspiration from my walk this morning, I decided to plant some up my house.

Here's our place now.

Here is what I am going for.

I am spending the night tonight with my wonderful grandmother tonight in Texarkana. And tomorrow Shepherd and I are bound for Little Rock for the first time! I can't wait! My parents are dying to see him.

Until tomorrow...
