Thankful hearts are beautiful

Happy Friday everyone...we made it! I am reading a new book that I wanted to share with all of you. It is called "One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp.

Have you read it? It is amazing. I am a bit of a skeptic by nature. I wish I wasn't. I am. When people tell me to read a book, all of the sudden I no longer want to. I think I fear that my expectations won't be met. This book won't let you down. It is all about learning to be thankful to God in each moment. To learn that there is joy and eucharistia (thanksgiving) that can be found at all times. While I'm changing a nasty diaper, I can be thankful. When my refrigerator goes out, I can be joyful. Even in harder, really hard times. The Lord is faithful and is a well of joy that He longs to give to us if we notice Him. Remember Him.  It is possible, this I am learning.

"When I give thanks for the seemingly microscopic, I make a place for God to grow within me."
— Ann Voskamp

I so want to let this seep into my heart. To learn to be more thankful and therefore more joyful to the Lord who is the only way that I will be truly happy. I think that delights Him, so He might just continue to work that out in me. I too am going to begin to make an ongoing list of what I am thankful for. And I think that I am going to make this sign. And then be thankful that I can create, that I have two hands and a kitchen to put it in.

Until Monday...
