It's Wednesday and not only that, my little nugget is four months old today. How can it be? I love you honeybee.

Perspective

Good morning everyone!  I feel like I need to get something off my chest. I want to say that all the things that I write about on this blog are all things that are fine and lovely in themselves. But, I don't want to ever give the message that these things can ever make me happy or that they are things that I have to have. I will always love interior design and fashion. But, it is so futile in comparison to what is of eternal value. It is only my Savior who ever fully satisfies my desire for beauty or who can genuinely make me lovely. I want to wake up with my mind set on Him and not some silly blog. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Blue rooms

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Kirk is off supporting the Razorbacks for the big Alabama game in Fayetteville. And my plan for the weekend is to sew some curtains for the kitchen! Here is a bunch of rooms done in some statement of blue. My room is still an awful mocha color. My mom talked me out of the green room. She knows me too well...I would probably get sick of the green in a week.

Until Monday...wish me luck on the curtains!

In my head

Happy hump day lovely ones! How is your week going? I was thinking today how weird it is that now that I am a mom (still SO weird in itself) that in some sense I have much less time than I ever have, but in other ways more. I guess I am trying to find some sort of balance in my days. There are so many things that I'd love to do like take a class at the Dallas Creative Arts Center, serve in a ministry that deals with the issue of human trafficking in Dallas or work a few hours a week as an interior designer. Just some of my recent and random thoughts. Here are some pretty shots from around the web.

Ode to balloons

Good morning everyone! It's Monday, but Friday will be here before you know it. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Did you do anything fun? The lake was such a great getaway, I'm so glad that we were able to go.
I tried to think of something that might make us all happy on this Monday morn...and balloons came to mind. They seem to be a trend these days, and I'll participate in that. Enjoy!

Master moves

Happy Friday one and all! What are you all up to this weekend? The Meyers are headed to the lake for the weekend and I am so excited to be with friends and be near the water. There is just something about being on the lake that is so peaceful.
This week I have been pretty busy trying to tackle little improvements around our home. I wanted to funk up our room a little. I took our tall dresser out and switched it with a shorter and longer piece. I found a fantastic mirror at Moderne that was exactly what I was looking for and leaned it against the wall on top of the dresser. Then I primed and painted some old poster frames that I have been meaning to redo since college and filled them with some acrylic artwork. I had to recut the mats inside which was the least fun part of the project. Here is the before pictures of our master bedroom.

I am still wanting to sell our bed. It is posted on Craigslist, so we'll see if it sells!

Prettier pillows, prettier porch

Hey everyone! This morning I decided to remake the pillows on my porch. The furniture was given to us by a great friend who had had it outside. And after a few years under the sun, let's just say the pillows weren't cute. So, it was time to spunk up our space. The carpet out there this god-awful blue. So finding a fabric that matched the blue and the light green was challenging. But, I think I pulled it off. Here are the before pictures.

H&M hmm...

Hey all! Happy hump day! Have any of you Dallasites noticed all the H&M commercials on television lately? This past May I emailed the "info" contact at Northpark to ask if H&M would ever be able to lease a space here in Dallas (I know, I'm a dork). I went on to rave about H&M and how well I thought it would do in the Dallas metroplex. Here was his response:
