Dear Mr. Chesterfield
Dear Mr. Chesterfield, you have great taste. A "Chesterfield" or "Earls of Chesterfield" was a title that was given to an aristocratic family from England. Because of this dear man, still today in the United Kingdom a Chesterfield is a deep buttoned sofa, with arms and a back that are the same height. This term for a sofa is still used to date in the UK, Canada and in Northern California. All that to say...I like the shape and style of the Chesterfield. Yes, I do. Do you?

Monet
Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend. Kirk and I celebrated our sixth anniversary on Saturday. Six years? That seems so crazy. We went to the Dallas Museum of Art, then went to uptown for a drink and had dinner at Nonna. It was really fun and dinner was delicious. However, Shepherd hadn't been sleeping well all week so we were both exhausted. The 9:00 dinner reservation wasn't a brilliant idea for two sleep deprived parents. Whew, we are officially old. Kirk asked me on our date who some of my favorite artists are and it gave me the idea to start featuring an artist every once in a while here. So, this post is all about Claude Monet. I went to Barnes yesterday and sat down in the art section with my nose in a Monet book for about an hour. I got so inspired that went to the art store, bought some new paint and came right home to paint. He truly is a genius and the master of impressionism. Here are a few of my favorite pieces of his. Enjoy!
Look at those colors! Amazing.

Faux bamboo
Hey guys! H&M is officially open here in the metroplex. I am waiting for Shep to wake up and then we are off to Northpark. Should I even try to brave the crowds today with an infant? I'll just stuff him to the brim, bring treats for backup and I think he'll be happy!
Today's post is all about bamboo. I think that I went to the edge of overkill with decorating with bamboo. I love it. There are so many pieces of furniture out there now with the bamboo motif. Here are a few of my favorite pieces and spaces. Enjoy!

Busted
Happy hump day everyone! Is anyone else crazy ready for fall? I cannot wait to feel a breeze on my face. Not a sticky humid two second whiff of hotness. But, a long cool fresh breeze. I am dreaming of breezes.
Today's post is all about busts. I've noticed that they have gradually become more and more popular over the last few years. I love them. I have two up in my own house. If you dig them too, keep your eyes open. I see them at estate sales all the time. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Findings for shelves...one day
Hey everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend! We had a pretty laid back few days around here. However, two of my best friends had their #2 babies over the weekend. Welcome to the world Reid and Laney!
I really love where we live. However, there are a few things that I will absolutely keep in mind when we start to search for a new home.
1. Large garage for my finds
2. Great back yard for Shep and cookouts with friends
3. Closet space
4. Interesting built in bookshelves
So, it's number four on my list, but bookshelves make such a beautiful statement if done well. People, don't just fill your shelves to take up space. Be intentional about what you choose. Put your memories there, color coordinate what you choose and be minimal but not to sparse. Fill your rooms with who you are and what you love. I am always on the hunt for lovely things to put in my future bookshelves. I've got a box full that I keep adding to. Here are a few shelves that I was drawn to. Enjoy!

Let's live
Happy Friday everyone! Today has been a good day. I went to Ikea with an awesome friend, another one of my wonderful friends had her baby, and I finally found a pair of red skinny jeans that fit just right...well, good enough. Don't you just love the weekends? Instant mood booster. Completely off top from above, today's post is all about living rooms. I think that your living room should be your main focus before you work on any other room in your house. It's where you live. It's where I live. My friends would tell you that my living room is always changing. I guess that it true. I like to say it's evolving. But, I love it just how it is right now. Here are some other living rooms that I love. They just work. Enjoy!
Until Monday...

Fourteen months
Where has the time gone? Yesterday marked the fourteenth month of my little man's life. Lately he is into climbing up and down our back step, pushing his wagon and playing with tupperware. He is about to walk any moment. Here's to Shepherd!
Until tomorrow...
